"This summer, we had the pleasure of bringing our six year old granddaughter with us on our appointed MOW rounds. Not only was it a wonderful experience for her, it was a bright spot in the day of our clients, some of whom I've never seen smile until that encounter! One client even gave her a dollar tip! Now who was smiling?!!"

- Susan and Doug Hughes (Meals on Wheels volunteers since 2013)

To understand the concept of seniors being hungry, you must understand what it means to be "food insecure". When you are food insecure, it means that there is "limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe foods or limited or uncertain ability to acquire acceptable foods in socially acceptable ways," as defined by a study published in The Journal of Nutrition. Essentially, it meals that you aren't  receiving and/or don't have access to the necessary foods and nutrients to help sustain your life. Click HERE for more in-depth information.

Meals on Wheels North Jersey is thrilled to be partnering once again with the Bergen County Players for our 3rd Annual Theater Night Fundraiser. This year's benefit performance is The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Book, Music and Lyrics by: Rupert Holmes and based on the unfinished novel by Charles Dickens.
Directed by Steve Bell.

BCP kicks off its 86th season with a brilliantly delightful musical whodunit incorporating a most unusual plot device: a “19th century Music Hall murder-mystery-set-within-a musical” in which you participate by identifying various mysterious characters and then actually vote on the murderer! You could come back and see eight performances and experience a different ending each time! Winner of 14 total Tony and Drama Desk Awards in 1986, including Best Musical, Drood is “one of the most inventive, inspired and rousing musicals ever devised.” AM NEW YORK
